From 1 October, foreign travellers will be required to fill out a digital entry declaration („e-Arrival Card“) before travelling to India, according to recent media reports. Currently, only a beta version of the form is available online for testing, but it is not yet mandatory. Once the system officially goes live, travellers will have to complete the e-Arrival Card within 5 days before arriving in India. The e-Arrival Card replaces the entry declarations previously handed out during the flight or on arrival in paper form. Indian nationals are exempt from the regulation.
