The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (EDA) updated its travel advice for Papua New Guinea on Tuesday (14 October), and now advises against tourist and other non-urgent travel to the provinces of Hela, Southern Highlands and Western Highlands. The same advisory was already in place for the province of Enga. In addition, travellers are advised to exercise extreme caution when travelling to the remaining highland provinces of Chimbu (Simbu), Eastern Highlands and Jiwaka.
